We need tons of volunteers, and if we all pitch in a little, you won't miss out on any of the fun. Any time you are able to spare will be a big help in ensuring the success of the festivities. Please review the opportunities here and sign up for one or more spots! More instructions will be provided to volunteers as we approach the big day.  We want to thank the sponsors who underwrite this event and ultimately make it possible! 2019 Annual Meeting Recap

The Northwood Hills Homeowners Association Annual Meeting took place on Tuesday, February 12th at Fretz Park Recreation Center (the building next door to Fretz Library). Residents mingled, enjoyed some light refreshments, and then heard updates on city happenings from Council Member Kleinman's office. After that, NHHA Board Members provided details on the Association's activities including Security, Beautification, Membership, and Special Projects. A new At-Large Director, Kristen Holden, was elected to the Board. The 2018 NHHA Financials and proposed 2019 Budget were shared and approved. Questions and comments were welcomed at the conclusion of the business meeting. For a recap of what was shared, the 2019 Report to the Membership should provide an accurate picture of what was accomplished last year and what we hope to achieve this year.

National Good Neighbor Day – 2018

For the past few years, NHHA has celebrated National Good Neighbor Day in late September by recognizing the kind and thoughtful people who live around us, facilitating donations of goods and gift cards for our Dallas Fire & Rescue First Responders, and collecting toys and stuffed animals for children undergoing treatment at Medical City Children's Hospital. This year, NHHA partnered with Carter BloodCare to host a blood donation drive in honor of National Good Neighbor Day.    Carter is the primary blood supplier to more than 200 medical facilities and there are about 600 to 800 patients daily who require blood transfusions. Blood products are certainly needed during emergencies, but everyday activities require them too - surgeries, C-section deliveries, transplants, anemia, cancer treatments, etc. What better way to be a Good Neighbor than by donating something that could save a life?    To make it easy, we brought the Carter BloodCare bus to the YouFit parking lot at 7989 Belt Line Rd (located in the Spring Creek Village shopping center at the northwest corner of Coit and Belt Line). Snacks, drinks, and a thank you gift were provided after donation. We are very grateful to the residents who supported our [...]

Community Preparedness Training – 2018

NHHA partnered with the City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management to offer an interactive training for our residents to help prepare for the next disaster or severe weather event. The presentation helped residents: identify potential hazards in our area; learn what to do before, during, and after a disaster; learn how to make a plan and build an emergency kit; and get a refresher on how to stay informed. Each participant received checklists on what to include in home emergency kits, Grab 'n Go bags, car emergency kits, and office emergency kits. Free first aid kits were also handed out. A big thanks to Rafael Ferreira with the Office of Emergency Management for a great presentation. We also appreciate the NWH residents who took advantage of this free and easy opportunity for increasing our community preparedness.

Shred, Recycle, Donate 2018

One of NHHA’s most popular member benefits, the Annual Shred Event, took place in early June. Over the span of three hours, NHHA Members lost over 7,000 pounds – pounds of paper and electronics, that is. Thanks to Action Shred, sensitive documents were shredded on-site, usually before the Member even drove away! They also collected old, broken, or unused electronics for recycling. Quite a few members were grateful to clear up closet space previously occupied by outdated computer towers and televisions. With NHHA Board Members directing traffic and unloading cars, the process for drop-off was quick and easy. Members undoubtedly saved time and money by utilizing this FREE service inside the neighborhood. As a great complement to the paper shredding and electronics recycling, NHHA also coordinated with Goodwill to have a trailer and employee on-site to collect gently used household items for donation. Sighs of relief were heard from members as bag after bag was unloaded from their cars. Since donated goods equate to hours of employment for those they serve, we are grateful to our residents for their contributions to Goodwill! NHHA enjoys offering this beneficial service to its members and appreciates those who participated. We look forward to [...]
